Seasoned Bear Chops

Here is a simple and flavorful way to prepare bear chops. Enjoy.

Time: 2 hrs   •   Prep Time: 15 min   •   Cook Time: 1 hrs and 40 mins
Serving Size: Variable, based on number of chops prepared


3/4 Inch Bear Chops
Onion Powder
1 can Mushroom Soup
1 can Mushrooms


Trim fat from chops. Place in ice water with a little salt for 30-60 minutes. Remove from water and pat dry with a paper towel. Next, roll in flour seasoned with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic, and onion powder to taste. Brown the chops in olive oil or hot shortening, then place in an oven pan.

Cover with a can of mushroom soup, a can of water and, if desired a can of mushrooms with liquid. Place in oven at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.

If you'd like, try topping the dish with canned onion rings (the kind you often have on green beans) during last 20 minutes of baking.
