You can make this recipe with the whole dove, or just the breast, if you prefer. It makes a great little appetizer and is pretty easy to make.
Time: 32 min • Prep Time: 12 min • Cook Time: 20 min
Serving Size: 4-6
1/2 cup soy sauce (or light soy sauce, if you prefer)
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup Italian dressing
6 slices bacon (cut in half, width-wise)
3-6 whole pickled jalapeno peppers (use either a quarter or a half for each, depending on how much heat you can handle. Cut them length-wise)
Directions: 1 Marinate the doves overnight or at least for several hours. 2 Take each dove, line a jalapeno up against it and wrap the piece of bacon around it. 3 Secure with a toothpick. 4 Repeat. 5 Grill the breasts over medium heat, turning constantly to ensure even grilling. 6 Baste in the last few minutes with the remaining marinade. 7 Cook until the bacon is crispy.
Add the marination time to the total time for a real gauge on the time needed to prep this, but the actual time involved is minimal. It is a pretty simple recipes to prepare. Enjoy!
I made a mess of doves last fall using this recipes. I turned out great. Try this. Eat this.
