Venison Chili in the Slow Cooker

This recipe can be made in the morning and will be ready for dinner when you get home.

Time: 10 hrs and 10 mins   •   Prep Time: 10 min   •   Cook Time: 10 hrs
Serving Size: 41068

Ingredients

1 pound small dried red chili beans (soaked overnight and drained)
2 cups venison pieces
1 Tablespoon salt
1 yellow onion (chopped)
6 cups water
3 cloves garlic (minced)
2 teaspoons oregano leaves
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 1/2 teaspoons dried sage (crumbled)

Directions

Put all the above ingredients in a slow cooker and cover. Cook on high for 1 hour. Turn slow cooker heat down to low and cook for 8 to 10 more hours. If you want your chili thicker add a flour-water paste.
