If you don't own a pressure cooker, this is worthy of a purchase!!
Time: 1 hrs and 20 mins • Prep Time: 20 min • Cook Time: 1 hrs
Serving Size: 3-4 people
Ingredients
2 lbs. cut up elk stew meat
1 can beef consomme
2 diced potatoes
4 cut up carrots
1 can drained green beans
1/2 cup shredded cabbage
1 pint tomatoes
1 small onion, quartered
1/4 cup barley
Directions
In pressure cooker, brown 2 pounds of stew meat in hot vegetable oil. Add one can of beef consomme and one can of water. Cook with 10 pounds of pressure for 1/2 hour. Cool pressure cooker and add remaining ingredients. Cook at 10 pounds of pressure for another 20 minutes. Reduce pressure normally.
Tips
You may add salt and pepper to taste, along with other of your favorite herbs. Serve with hot biscuits for a pleasant "warm up" on a cold wintery day.
